We are an economic regulator accelerating carbon abatement for Australia. We do this by administering Australian Government schemes to measure, manage, reduce and offset carbon emissions in Australia.

Our role is determined by climate change law. We administer schemes that contribute to the Australian Government climate target of reducing emissions to 43% below 2005 levels by 2030 and Net Zero by 2050.

About the Section

The Human Resources, Security and Facilities section are responsible for operational and strategic people‑related matters for the agency.

We support the agency to achieve its purpose through providing business‑focused advice and support, and we strive to continuously improve the quality of our services and ensure that our workplace respects and meets the needs of all employees.

The section has responsibility for three distinct and important functions:

- The Human Resources function supports the attraction, retention and development of a highly skilled, motivated and engaged workforce.
- The Security function manages protective and physical security as directed in the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
- The Facilities function manages our property and facilities in accordance with government and industry guidelines.

About the Role





We are seeking a Senior HR Advisor – Performance and Conduct to provide expert advice and support on APS Code of Conduct, performance management and employee conduct matters, helping managers make informed, evidence‑based decisions. In this role, you will undertake and support misconduct investigations, manage underperformance cases, and provide practical guidance on performance and conduct processes while ensuring procedural fairness and compliance with APS legislation and policy. Working closely with stakeholders across the agency, you will build strong relationships to deliver responsive HR advice, maintain accurate case documentation, contribute to policy and process improvement, and support the ongoing administration of the annual performance management framework. You will also promote team capability through collaboration, knowledge sharing and mentoring, while applying sound judgement to achieve positive organisational outcomes.
