The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to step into a start-up environment at a pivotal stage, working within a highly capable team to transition from construction to operations on an accelerated timeline. As Lead Engineer – Operational Readiness, you will take ownership of your function and play a key role in shaping critical mining decisions.

Reporting to the Project Director and working closely with the broader engineering leadership team, you will deliver specialised expertise and operational readiness support across the Kobada Gold Project.

Based in West Perth, the role supports our Kobada (Mali) site activities to enable a seamless transition into operations.

The Role

Encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, working towards ensuring a robust operational readiness framework that ensures the mine is fully prepared organisationally, technically, and culturally for a seamless transition from project construction into sustainable operations.

Duties include;

- Lead Operational Readiness from the ground up in a true startup environment
- Work across all functions to shape how the operation is built, not just run
- Build the operating model, team, and capability from day one
- Get hands-on across systems, processes, and site setup - no ivory tower
- Play a key role in commissioning, startup, and first production




- Influence decisions across construction, operations, and leadership teams
- Solve real-time challenges and make a visible impact every day
- Be part of a high-ownership, all hands on deck culture driving first production

About You

You are a hands-on mining professional who thrives in a quick-paced, startup environment, excels in problem solving and enjoys building operations from the ground up. You bring 10+ years' experience across mining operations and/or project development, with exposure to construction, commissioning, and operational readiness.

You understand how to bridge project delivery into successful operations across systems, people, and processes and are confident implementing operational systems, developing practical procedures, and setting teams up for success.

You are a proactive problem solver with strong communication skills, comfortable working across diverse teams and ready to roll up your sleeves in an all-hands-on deck environment.

Key requirements

- Relevant degree in Mining, Engineering, or Metallurgy
- Experience in mining operations and/or project development
- Strong understanding of construction, commissioning, and operational readiness
- Proven ability to build teams, systems, and processes
