About the Role

We're looking for an experienced and trade qualified Carpenter who enjoys practical, hands-on work and takes pride in delivering quality outcomes.

You’ll join an experienced maintenance crew completing bridge, road and civil infrastructure works across Northern NSW. Your first project will be in Murwillumbah before moving to other regional locations. You’ll stay away during the week when required but be home every weekend.

Position: Carpenter – $51.82 per hour + superannuation
Depot:



Ballina NSW
Start: ASAP (subject to background checks)
Duration: 6 months
Roster: 38 ordinary hours per week plus overtime, with an RDO every second Friday

What You’ll Be Doing

- Carry out carpentry and formwork for road and bridge maintenance.
- Build, repair and maintain timber and concrete structures.
- Complete civil construction and maintenance works.
- Read plans and follow work instructions.
- Work safely with hand and power tools.
- Assist with bridge, culvert and roadside repairs.
- Complete inspections and identify maintenance issues. Follow site safety procedures and SWMS.
- Work closely with supervisors and crew members.
- Keep work areas clean, protected and organised.
- Help respond to urgent maintenance work when required.

What We’re Looking For Essential

- Certificate III in Carpentry (or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in civil construction or formwork.
- Experience working outdoors on construction or infrastructure projects.
- White Card.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Willingness to obtain Workers on Foot if required
- Reliable, safety focused and able to work as part of a team.
- Willing to travel for work during the week.




- Full Australian working rights. Sponsorship is not available.

Highly Regarded

- High Risk Work Licence.
- Working at Heights.
- First Aid & CPR.
- Experience on roads, bridges or government infrastructure projects.
