Are you passionate about consumer participation, lived-experience leadership, and creating meaningful opportunities for people to influence decision-making?

We are seeking a Consumer Representative Coordinator to lead and grow Tasmania's consumer representation program, supporting people with lived experience of mental health challenges to have their voices heard where it matters most. You'll play a pivotal role in recruiting, training, mentoring, and connecting consumer representatives with boards, committees, advisory groups, and consultation processes across Tasmania and nationally.

About the Role

As the Consumer Representative Coordinator, you will:

- Lead and coordinate the MHLET Consumer Representative Program.

- Recruit, support and place consumer representatives into a range of decision-making and advisory opportunities.

- Develop and deliver training, induction and capacity-building programs.

- Build strong relationships with government, NGOs, community organisations and sector partners.

- Grow opportunities for consumer representation through business development and partnership building.

- Support Tasmania's contribution to the National Consumer Register and national engagement opportunities.

- Collect data, monitor outcomes and contribute to continuous improvement across the program.

About You

You are someone who values authentic consumer participation and believes lived experience should shape services, policy and reform.





You will bring:

- Experience in program coordination, community engagement, stakeholder engagement or similar roles.

- A strong understanding of consumer participation and lived-experience approaches.

- Excellent communication, relationship-building and facilitation skills.

- Experience supporting, mentoring, training or developing individuals and groups.

- Solid organisational and administrative capabilities.

- The ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.

- A lived experience of mental health challenges.

Desirable

- Experience with consumer representative programs, advisory groups or co-design initiatives.

- Knowledge of Tasmania's health, mental health or community services sectors.

- Experience in partnership development, community engagement or program growth.
