Waterford Financial Services is seeking a Advice Associate - Financial Planning (Client Services) to join our agile team in Newcastle, Maitland & Hunter, NSW. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in supporting our financial planning operations and delivering exceptional client outcomes. As a Advice Associate, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between our financial planners and clients, ensuring that comprehensive financial plans are developed, implemented, and maintained to the highest standards. This role is essential to our commitment to providing professional and ethical financial planning services across the Hunter region.
What you'll be doing
Preparing comprehensive financial plans and statements under the supervision of senior financial planners
1. Conducting client fact-finding and documentation to support the financial planning process
2. Analysing client financial situations and preparing recommendations for adviser review
3. Managing client communications and coordinating meetings between clients and financial planners
4. Implementing financial planning advice and monitoring ongoing client outcomes
5. Maintaining client files and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
6. Processing client transactions and liaising with product providers
7. Supporting the development of financial planning strategies and solutions
8. Assisting with client onboarding and relationship management activities
9. Staying current with financial planning regulations, legislation, and industry updates
What we're looking for
1. Qualification in financial planning or a relevant financial services qualification (such as Diploma of Financial Planning or equivalent)
2. Demonstrated understanding of financial planning principles, investment concepts and risk management
3. Knowledge of financial products including superannuation, insurance,
shares and fixed income securities
4. Proficiency with financial planning software and Microsoft Office applications
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly
6. Excellent organisational and time management abilities
7. Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing financial documentation
8. Professional demeanour and commitment to client confidentiality
9. Experience in a financial services or advisory environment is highly desirable
10. Understanding of financial services compliance and regulatory obligations
