As they continue to grow, they're looking for a Qualitative Research Director who loves outstanding research but is equally excited by what's next. Someone who enjoys sharing ideas, building capability and helping shape how qualitative research continues to evolve.
The Opportunity
You'll lead fascinating qualitative projects from brief to debrief, building trusted client relationships and delivering insights that influence real business decisions. Beyond the day job, you'll have the opportunity to help grow the team's capability, contribute fresh thinking and explore new approaches as qualitative research continues to evolve through technology, cultural understanding, behavioural science and changing client expectations.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading strategic qualitative and mixed-method projects from proposal through to delivery.
- Designing discussion guides and moderating interviews, focus groups and workshops.
- Turning complex conversations into clear, commercially relevant recommendations.
- Building long-term relationships with clients as a trusted advisor.
- Coaching and mentoring researchers, helping grow confidence and capability across the team.
- Contributing ideas that strengthen the agency's qualitative offer and keep it ahead of the curve.
- Supporting proposals, pitches and new business initiatives.
About You
You'll probably have around 7+ years' agency-side qualitative research experience and be confident leading projects and managing clients. You're an engaging moderator, a natural storyteller and someone who enjoys getting to the heart of a problem.
You'll also be curious about where qualitative research is heading- whether that's AI, cultural insights, behavioural science, emerging methodologies or new ways of helping clients make better decisions. Most importantly, you'll enjoy working with smart people, sharing ideas and continuing to push the craft forward. This is a team that loves in person connection, you’ll need to enjoy working from their Melbourne offices at least 2 to 3 days a week.
