Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Theatre Technician Grade 1 - 4 to join our growing team on a Part Time (0.8 EFT) 6 Month Fixed Term Contract.

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Theatre Technician to join our Operating Theatre team. In this role, you will support the safe and efficient delivery of surgical services by preparing operating rooms, assisting with patient transfers and positioning, maintaining equipment, and ensuring theatre resources are readily available. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will play an important part in maintaining a safe workplace and supporting high-quality patient care.

The role of the Theatre Technician is to:

- Prepare operating theatres for surgical procedures, ensuring equipment, supplies, and the environment are ready for clinical use.
- Assist with patient transport, transfers, and positioning for surgery, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times.
- Clean, maintain, and restock operating rooms and equipment in accordance with infection prevention and control standards.
- Support the management and operation of theatre equipment, including laparoscopic towers, electrosurgical units, medical gases, and other specialised technologies.
- Assist with the application of pneumatic compression devices and tourniquet cuffs as directed by the clinical team.
- Collaborate with theatre staff to support efficient theatre operations, including stock management, meal break relief, and maintaining a safe working environment.

About you

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.




- Well-organised with excellent time management skills and the ability to work under direction in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Committed to delivering protected, high-quality healthcare services and maintaining patient dignity and respect.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude, reliability, adaptability, and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Previous healthcare experience is desirable, particularly within a perioperative or theatre environment.
- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Operating Theatre Technician Specialisation) is highly regarded.
