About the Role:

An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Senior Clinician within the Division of Forensic Mental Health. The Senior Clinician (Psychology or Social Work) is responsible to the Team Manager of Owenia House for the development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of quality evidence–based assessment and treatment services for individuals who have committed sexual offences in South Australia. Owenia House is a specialist community‑based service that works with adult offenders to reduce recidivism and promote safer community outcomes. Services at Owenia House include comprehensive assessment, structured group programmes, individual therapy, education and information. Owenia House adopts a collaborative multi‑agency approach to offender treatment and rehabilitation in South Australia.

Working with highly skilled clinicians, the incumbent will provide clinical leadership within the state‑wide Forensic Mental Health service, as well as provide support and supervision to less experienced staff. This role offers many opportunities to be involved in specialist Forensic Mental Health service development, quality improvement, research and innovation.

Qualifications:

To be eligible for this role as a psychologist, you must have an appropriate degree in Clinical, Forensic or Health Psychology or an equivalent qualification recognised by the PsyBA,



general registration with PsyBA and an endorsed area of practice in Clinical, Forensic or Health Psychology, or must be eligible or willing to work towards eligibility to hold Board Approved Supervisors Status with the PsyBA at all levels of supervision (primary and secondary).

To be eligible for this role as a Social Worker, you must have an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

In this role you will have robust interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully problem–solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships. An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role.
