Meerlinga Children and Community Services Inc – Bullsbrook WA

Meerlinga is an iconic Western Australian not-for-profit organisation and registered charity that has championed positive childhoods and child advocacy since 1911. We operate multiple Early Learning Centers around Perth, provide specialised educator training through our Registered Training Org, and run community family programmes.

With growth in demand for our services within the region, we are now looking for casual Diploma-qualified educators to join our team.

The Role

Working in cooperation with the Bullsbrook and Gidgegannup communities, particularly families with children, you will support our local team and services through connecting, developing, and maintaining relationships with families, community agencies, local government and businesses. The position will support our team establishing links to existing community networks of libraries, community centres, business, allied health professionals, and sports clubs and, through consultation, identify other networks that will enhance early parenting and early childhood experiences for families in the Bullsbrook locality.

This position will support our permanent team and ensure a smooth delivery of our programmes and services within the region. This role has a range of responsibilities in accordance with holding an approved Diploma level qualification and our organisational policies and procedures. Guided by the philosophy of “Play with Purpose”, opportunities for positive learning experiences are achieved through play.

Qualifications

- The minimum qualification relevant to this position includes a Diploma of Children’s Services, CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or an approved equivalent or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education.




- Demonstrated experience working with a range of family issues within early childhood and community sectors.
- Knowledge, experience and understanding of the importance of early years, parenting research, and best practice.
- Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of a team and contribute to the achievement of shared aims and objectives.
- Ability to work without supervision in a diverse environment and well-developed time management and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated high level of written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in an setting with limited resources.
- Demonstrated computer and technology skills.
- Ability to travel and work at other locations as required and out-of-hours work (evening and weekends) for occasional training, organisational and community events.
- Sound computer skills (Microsoft Office: word processing, spreadsheets where applicable).
- Aspire to work in a not-for-profit organisation where you can attach greater meaning to the work you do.
