Role Overview

We’re looking for an Employee Relations Adviser to join our People & Culture team, where you’ll play an important role in creating fair, respectful and inclusive workplace experiences across BOQ Group. This hands‑on role combines technical employee‑relations expertise with stakeholder coaching, problemsolving and people‑centred decision making. You’ll work closely with leaders, People & Culture Business Partners and key stakeholders to provide practical and commercially minded advice across a broad range of employee‑relations matters. From supporting performance, conduct and grievance matters through to workplace investigations, change initiatives and industrial‑relations activities, you’ll help navigate complex situations with fairness, empathy and sound judgement. You’ll also contribute to building capability across the organisation by supporting leaders with advice, coaching and education, and identifying opportunities to continuously improve employee‑relations practices and processes.
Responsibilities
- Provide advice on performance, conduct and grievance matters.
- Support workplace investigations and change initiatives.
- Engage in industrial‑relations activities and related matters.
- Co‑direct capability building initiatives for leaders.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements to employee‑relations practices and processes.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in employee‑relations and a genuine passion for helping people navigate workplace challenges.
- Experience translating complex legislation and risk considerations into practical, actionable advice.
- Curious, solutions‑focused, with the ability to balance business outcomes with employee experience.
- Comfortable managing sensitive matters, approaching investigations, grievances and performance matters with empathy, discretion and sound judgement.
- Deep understanding of Australian employment and industrial‑relations legislation, and confidence managing complex cases from start to finish.
- Excellent communication, influence and stakeholder‑management skills across all levels of the organisation and external representatives.
