As a System Architect, you’ll help shape and guide the technical direction within your domain, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with enterprise architecture. You’ll work closely with engineering teams to solve complex technical challenges, influence product direction, and contribute to the design of enterprise-grade software used by organisations across Australia and beyond.

This role is hands‑on and technical. It’s best suited to an experienced Senior Developer or emerging Architect who is still actively working in code and wants to step up into a broader architectural role. You’ll be close to the technology and engineering teams every day, while building your capability and impact in architecture.

What you’ll be doing…

Responsibilities and Qualifications

- Interpreting enterprise architecture and translating it into practical, domain‑specific standards, principles, and guidelines
- Developing and maintaining key architecture artefacts such as decision records, data models, system context diagrams, and integration interfaces
- Acting as a technical design authority within your domain, guiding integration approaches and helping resolve complex engineering challenges
- Collaborating with Product teams to ensure solutions align with product vision and roadmap
- Designing and reviewing technical solutions across code, data, and user interface layers
- Championing development standards, coding practices, and security requirements
- Participating in code reviews and technical discussions to maintain quality and consistency
- Driving continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce complexity
- Ensuring solutions comply with organisational policies, procedures, and security requirements
- Strong software engineering background with a focus on building scalable, maintainable enterprise systems
- Comfortable working hands‑on in technical environments and contributing to code‑level discussions




- Experience leading technical design conversations and influencing engineering decisions
- Strong understanding of non‑functional requirements including performance, security, reliability, and privacy
- Ability to think beyond individual features and consider end‑to‑end system design and long‑term architecture outcomes
- Clear communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical guidance
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance technical decisions with business outcomes
- Experience in enterprise software environments (TechnologyOne experience is highly regarded)
- Either already working in an architecture role or a Senior Developer ready to take the next step into architecture, while remaining hands‑on technically
