Primary Location: Drummoyne

- Permanent full-time position (35 hours per week)
- Participate in Council’s 9-day fortnight scheme
- $119,027 to $136,881 per annum plus super

The Coordinator, Environmental Sustainability is responsible for leading initiatives that enhance environmental sustainability across the City, while also overseeing the daily operations of a team of Environmental Sustainability professionals.

We are looking for an individual who will show true leadership, passion and professionalism for this role.

About the role

Key responsibilities not limited to:

- Develop, implement and evaluate evidence-based environmental sustainability programs aligned with the Environmental Strategy and organisational objectives.
- Lead integrated sustainability and resilience initiatives across departments, embedding principles into Council policies, plans, projects, and reporting on outcomes.
- Ensure Council meets its biosecurity obligations, maintaining compliant policies, procedures and practices in line with legislation.
- Build and manage strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen collaboration, participation and program delivery.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, including oversight of volunteers and students, ensuring clear direction,



capability development and timely delivery of priorities.
- Maintain expertise in environmental policy, legislation and best practice, driving innovation and providing strategic advice to the Manager, Sustainability & Resilience.

Are You the Ideal Candidate?

About the Person

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- A tertiary degree and/or equivalent in environmental management, or related discipline and/or proven experience (greater than 5 years). Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in Behaviour Change, Biodiversity, Climate resilience, Community programs and Strategy and Policy.
- Experience delivering community sustainability education and events.
- Proven grant writing and project acquittal/reporting experience.
- Strong data analysis and environmental report writing skills.
- Experience with web-based data management systems.
- Experience in water, energy and greenhouse gas reporting.
