Your New Role
As the Grid Development Manager, you will play a key role in the growth of the business, supporting the grid and technical delivery of utility scale energy storage and solar projects, both pre- and post- investment decision. Spearheading the Grid Development function, you will define scopes of work, manage consultants, prepare technical specifications and optimise project outcomes – balancing technical excellence with commercial success.
Key day to day responsibilities include:
- Supporting project development by managing the grid connection process and approvals
- Managing technical consultants to provided required studies and modelling
- Engaging with NSPs and AEMO to negotiate optimised connection strategies for projects to ensure cost-effective and efficient connections
- Supporting project design and technology selection analysis,
providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle
- Supporting EPC concept designs, scope and deliverables to ensure completeness and accuracy.
As the business and portfolio grows, as will your career development, with potential to build a small team. The role is based in their Sydney CBD office, with flexible work arrangements available.
Your Skills & Experience
You will bring to the role:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, with CPEng or RPEQ a plus
- Circa 5+ years’ experience in grid connections within the project development, NSP or consulting environments
- Strong technical understanding of the CURRENT or WEM, AEMO and Australian grid code requirements
- Demonstrated experience operating successfully in a high-paced environment
- Strong stakeholder engagement capability, particularly in managing external consultant for the delivery of design and study packages.
