The Opportunity

KBR is seeking an experienced and autonomous Cost Analyst to play a critical role in supporting the transition and retirement of the C-130J-30 fleet. If you excel in complex cost modelling, enjoy influencing strategic decisions, and thrive in a Defence environment—this role is for you.

Responsibilities

- Conduct complex pricing and cost analysis, including Annual Cost Reviews.
- Develop cost estimates to support current and future sustainment budgets.
- Lead detailed financial investigations that influence strategic decisions.
- Participate in contract negotiations and change proposals.
- Prepare and present cost analysis reports to senior leadership.
- Break down TLS pricing structures using existing data sources.
- Support the 2026 Periodic Cost Review and contribute to Contract Reform.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including CFA, DFG, and NGA.
- Participate in Phase Out Planning workshops.

As the ideal candidate you will bring

- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
- Robust analytical, visual data interpretation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- Experience in Defence or complex commercial cost analysis
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or similar
- CPA/CA/CIMA highly regarded; procurement/contracting training advantageous




- Defence sustainment or TLS contract knowledge
- Familiarity with contract reform and value-for-money assessments
- Experience in procedural documentation, mentoring, and knowledge transfer

All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a NV1 Clearance or above should apply.

Location: Mascot, New South Wales, Australia.

Salary: A$120,000.00–A$127,000.00.
