About the Role
As Venue Operations Manager, you’ll lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of all operational aspects of the Netball World Cup Sydney 2027 across designated venues. From venue readiness and bump‑in/bump‑out to workforce and volunteer management, you’ll ensure a safe, seamless, and world‑class event experience. No two days will be the same—and that’s what makes this role exciting.
Responsibilities
- Partner with World Netball, Netball Australia, Member Organisations, and stakeholders to deliver an exceptional in‑venue experience.
- Manage relationships with venue owners and ensure competition requirements are met.
- Develop operational delivery structures, including temporary overlay and clean venue requirements, within budget.
- Oversee bump‑in and bump‑out schedules to ensure timely venue readiness.
- Collaborate with authorities and precinct stakeholders on transport operations and spectator services.
- Support development of a comprehensive security plan with emergency services, police, and venues.
- Manage accreditation processes and controlled access points.
- Coordinate broadcast and media operations to meet international standards.
- Deliver world‑class sport presentation and ceremonies to enhance game‑day experiences.
- Activate fan engagement initiatives in collaboration with Commercial & Marketing.
- Deploy across venues, volunteers and staff in partnership with the Workforce team.
- Manage procurement processes and negotiate cost‑effective agreements with vendors.
- Develop and monitor venue operations budgets, ensuring financial compliance and reporting.
What Sets You Apart
- 5+ years’ experience managing venue operations for major sporting or entertainment events.
- Strong background in event and facility operations.
- Proven expertise in budget management and project delivery, including temporary overlay.
- Experience in operational risk management, incident response, and command/ control room operations.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills across international federations, government agencies, and venue operators.
- Ability to lead teams and coordinate volunteers effectively.
- Outstanding organisational and problem‑solving skills under pressure.
