Acanthus Marble & Granite is looking for a reliable, motivated and keen person to join our team at our factory in Kallangur, Brisbane Northside.
We are looking for someone who is experienced operating a Farnese Marc 5 bridge saw, or someone with stone industry, machinery or factory experience who is willing to learn.
The successful applicant will also be given the opportunity to learn how to operate our waterjet machine.
About the Role
Your duties will include:
- Operating the Farnese Marc 5 bridge saw
- Learning to operate our waterjet machine
- Cutting natural stone, porcelain and other stone products
- Reading drawings, cutting lists and measurements
- Checking slab colours, sizes and job details before cutting
- Loading and positioning slabs safely
- Checking finished pieces for accuracy and quality
- Completing basic machine cleaning and maintenance
- Keeping the factory and work area clean and organised
- Following all workplace health and safety requirements
- Assisting with other factory duties when required
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Keen to learn and improve
- Experienced with stone machinery,
bridge saws or factory machinery, or willing to learn
- Interested in learning the waterjet machine
- Able to read measurements and drawings accurately
- Safety-conscious and able to follow instructions
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a factory setting
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Careful with materials and focused on producing quality work
Experience operating a Farnese Marc 5, bridge saw or waterjet will be highly regarded, but training can be provided to the right person with a good attitude.
A forklift licence and previous stone industry experience would be an advantage but are not essential.
