Due to continued growth and an expanding portfolio of major infrastructure projects, we are seeking a Draftsman - Electrical to join our Engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a drafting professional to build their career within a specialist electrical manufacturing environment. Whether your background is electrical drafting or another technical drafting discipline, you will work closely with experienced engineers to prepare and maintain drawings and technical documentation supporting the manufacture and delivery of low-voltage switchboards.

This role can be based at either our Bendigo facility or our Melbourne Northern Suburbs location.

This is an onsite position. Given the highly collaborative nature of the role and the regular interaction required with engineering, project management and manufacturing teams, work from home arrangements are not available.

About The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager,



the Draftsman - Electrical is responsible for preparing and maintaining electrical drawings and engineering documentation for low-voltage switchboard projects.

Working closely with the engineering team, you will produce accurate schematics, general arrangement drawings and supporting documentation that enable compliant, high-quality manufacturing and project delivery outcomes. You will play an important role in maintaining drawing accuracy, revision control and drafting standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation for LV switchboards.

- Produce 2D general arrangement drawings using AutoCAD.

- Update drawings and documentation in accordance with engineering requirements and project changes.

- Support compliance activities and the application of relevant Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 61439.

- Produce accurate engineering documentation supporting estimating, manufacturing and project delivery functions.

- Maintain document control, revision management and drafting standards.

- Work collaboratively with project managers, production teams and engineers to ensure documentation supports project requirements.

- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development opportunities.

About You

- Previous drafting experience is essential, with electrical drafting experience highly regarded but not essential.

- Drafting experience from mechanical, structural, manufacturing,



construction or other technical disciplines will be considered.

- Proficiency in AutoCAD or a similar CAD platform, with AutoCAD Electrical experience highly regarded.

- Certificate, Diploma or qualification in Drafting, Engineering, Electrical or a related discipline preferred.

- Strong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn new software and systems.

- Interest in PLC, SCADA or automation systems will be highly regarded.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.

- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across multiple disciplines.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

- Professional, reliable and proactive approach to work.
