About The Role
The primary purpose of the HIM Lead is to improve documentation practices, identify efficiencies and ensure compliance with admitted and non‑admitted practices. This role is also required to identify opportunities to ethically optimise activity to ensure WAU generation supports the care provided.
About You
- High level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate with health professionals, government agencies and a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- High level knowledge in Health Information Management practices and the ability to implement and maintain quality management strategies,
including ability to maintain accreditation standards.
- Well‑developed knowledge of clinical classification with ability to provide education to clinicians regarding clinical classification, Activity Based Funding and principles and guidelines relating to health information services and quality management principles.
- High level commitment to continuous quality improvement, expertise and experience in the development and implementation of quality management activities in relation to all aspects of health information, including coded data.
Mandatory Requirements
- Appointment to this position requires proof of tertiary qualification in Health Information Management.
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine‑preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16.
