Fitter – Queensland Metallurgical Operations, Maintenance, Lead Smelter, Mount Isa, Queensland, Australia. This position is residentially based in Mount Isa and operates on a 4/4/4/2 roster.
The Role
Reporting to the Supervisor – Maintenance, you will provide effective maintenance in a protected, efficient and cost‑effective manner to ensure that production and statutory requirements are met. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Repair and maintenance of fixed plant within the Lead Smelter
- Undertaking preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on equipment such as pumps, conveyor systems and hydraulic systems
- Maintaining high and safe quality of work
Qualifications and Experience
- Trade qualification – Fitter (Mechanical) essential
- Current manual driver’s license
- Experience within mining/heavy industry environment will be highly regarded
- Ability to think logically and solve problems when required
- Flexible in terms of rosters and possible changes to roster when required as per business needs
