Salary: $72,016 to $75,677 per annum + Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (Salary dependent on qualifications and experience)

Opportunity

Case Worker in the Casework Support Program (CSP) based in Grafton with travel to Casino. This position will provide support to young people aged 12–18 in the Youth Justice System, helping them integrate with their community and address issues contributing to their offending. The CSP is a funded service of Youth Justice NSW, targeted at young people in contact with the criminal justice system who are supervised by Youth Justice Case Workers in community offices and who have been assessed as having a medium to high risk of offending. Client goals and case plan are set by the Case Workers from Youth Justice. In this role, you will support the client to achieve those goals by offering one-to-one case work support to young people for 12 weeks (with the possibility of extending the time frame). Assistance may include, but is not limited to, obtaining personal identification, engaging/sustaining education and training programmes, driver’s licence support, transport to and from appointments, and participation in pro‑social activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist and encourage clients to develop skills necessary to achieve their set goals.
- Provide assertive outreach due to requirement to travel and work intensively in the community.




- Submit weekly reports detailing hours of client contact per week per client (maximum 8 clients).
- Liaise with the Department of Youth Justice providing casework support with participants.
- Maintain client folders and documents, ensuring that all documents are completed.
- Contribute to the effective functioning and development of the service, including WHS requirements.

Requirements for Success

- Relevant qualifications in Community Services and/or relevant industry experience.
- Experience working with young people with challenging behaviours.
- First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain.
- Knowledge of case management and issues surrounding homelessness and an understanding of the issues that impact on families.
- Current driver’s licence.

Before starting work, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
