Data Engineering Lead - Snowflake

We are seeking a Snowflake Implementation & Migration Lead to drive large-scale data platform transformation projects, enabling our clients to unlock the full potential of their data. Summary:

In this role, you will lead end-to-end Snowflake migration projects, build semantic data models,



and enable reporting solutions for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). You will apply deep expertise in Snowflake’s latest features, data architecture, and BI integrations while embedding up-to-date DevOps practices. This position also offers high visibility, with direct engagement with senior client stakeholders including CIOs, Heads of Analytics, and Finance teams.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead Snowflake migrations & implementations, including legacy warehouse modernisation, schema design, and data optimisation.
- Design and deliver semantic data models to enable self-service analytics.
- Integrate Snowflake with Power BI and other BI tools for enterprise reporting.
- Leverage advanced Snowflake features such as data sharing, marketplace, Snowpark, and performance optimisation.
- Drive DevOps & CI/CD practices, including automated testing and infrastructure as code.
- Collaborate with cloud architects (Azure, AWS, or GCP) to align with enterprise strategies.
- Ensure data governance and security best practices are embedded across platforms.
- Engage and advise senior stakeholders on data strategies and project delivery.

Requirements:

- 5+ years of data engineering experience, with at least 3 years in Snowflake implementation.




- Strong knowledge of Snowflake’s latest features (Snowpark, marketplace, dynamic tables).
- Proven ability to build semantic models and integrate Snowflake with BI tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Hands-on expertise in cloud architecture (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Strong background in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
- Proficiency in SQL and ETL/ELT patterns.
- Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have:

- Experience in SME environments balancing agility and governance.
- Familiarity with Tableau, Looker, or other BI tools.
- Python or scripting skills for automation and Snowpark.
- Knowledge of data sharing and external data collaboration use cases.
