Eveda is an Australian-designed and manufactured medical diagnostic device and software company delivering comprehensive, portable point-of-care health screening. Our HubX platform screens 300+ data points across six core health systems from a finger-prick and urine sample in about 15 minutes.
Eveda's diagnostic accuracy is independently validated using Randox international quality controls and through the RCPA Quality Assurance Program. Our laboratory team is central to validating and supporting our chemistry and blood gas testing, and to maintaining the accuracy and reliability that underpin our products.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join our pathology team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate has solid hands‑on experience in a pathology laboratory, with particular strength in clinical chemistry and blood gas analysis. You will perform testing, maintain instrumentation documentation, support quality control and contribute to the accuracy and reliability that underpins our products. Also have experience in regulatory and compliances procedures and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialised testing across the clinical chemistry and blood gas sections.
- Operate, calibrate and maintain chemistry analysers and blood gas instruments in line with manufacturer and laboratory protocols.
- Run and monitor internal quality control (QC) and participate in external quality assurance programs.
- Prepare, handle and process pathology specimens following correct pre-analytical procedures.
- Troubleshoot instrument and assay issues, escalating as required, and document corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g. NATA/ISO 15189, ISO 13485).
- Conduct laboratory work in accordance with Valuable Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) principles, particularly when handling validation and clinical‑study samples.
- Support method validation, verification and continuous improvement activities.
- Follow all workplace health, safety and infection‑control requirements.
Selection Criteria
Essential
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in laboratory/medical science or a closely related discipline.
- 3–5 years hands‑on experience in a pathology laboratory.
- Demonstrated experience in the chemistry section, including operation of chemistry analysers.
- Practical experience with blood gas analysis and instrumentation.
- Sound understanding of quality control and quality assurance in a diagnostic setting.
- Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) principles.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and record‑keeping.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
Desirable
- Formal GCP and/or GCLP training or certification.
- Experience in a NATA/ISO 15189 accredited laboratory.
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
- Exposure to method validation or instrument evaluation.
- Experience working with or alongside diagnostic device manufacturers.
