Senior Support Worker – NDIS (in-home and Community Access Focus)

About the Role
We’re seeking a compassionate and proactive Senior Support Worker to support an NDIS participant with daily care needs within the home, with a strong focus on enhancing community access . The role will suit a female candidate as the client’s family requested a female staff member. The role will be with our client company, initially focusing on one female client/family. Opportunity to pick up to 38 hrs per week, including weekends. This role combines hands‑on support, team leadership, and collaboration with therapists, families, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily support, including personal care with dignity and respect
- Support needs to be provided within the client’s home when no community access is scheduled or planned
- Provide holistic, culturally appropriate care
- Support client in enhancing capacity and build good familial relationships
- Facilitate community access activities aligned with the client’s goals
- Work closely with allied health professionals to implement therapy plans
- Collaborate with the client and their family to build motivation and independence
- Deliver high‑quality, consistent care and client skill‑building
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes
- Assist with NDI compliance and organisational documents
- Lead with empathy, flexibility, and professionalism
- Understand and work with culturally and linguistically diverse clients and families.
- Should be comfortable with pets and assist the client in managing them.
About You
- Experience supporting clients with intellectual disability and autism is essential
- Female applicant (client family requested female‑only staff)
- Comfortable with personal care tasks and community engagement
- Able to work closely with guardian and other family members in delivering culturally sensitive holistic care to the client
- Cert III or IV in Disability, Individual Support or similar qualification needed
- Applicants with a Therapy Assistant qualification preferred
- Mandatory NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid, and valid Driver’s Licence
- Own fully insured car required for transport and community access
