Assistant Urban Planner

- Salary $79,022–$92,645 per annum
- Plus up to 14.5% superannuation (conditions apply)

Synopsis

This is a frontline customer service role where you will be the first point of contact for all planning enquiries. Your days will be busy with responding to planning related customer enquiries over the phone, at the front counter and through written correspondence, in addition to assessing easy planning related applications and performing a range of administrative duties. You will have a passion for customer service, excellent communication skills, and be a proficient administrator with good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
Applicants are required to hold a Current WA 'C' Class Driver's Licence.
Qualifications
To be considered, please submit a covering letter (no more than 2 pages) addressing your experience in the following areas:
- Demonstrated experience in a customer service role dealing with people on the phone, in person and in writing.
- Experience in researching and analysing information to inform your work.
- Knowledge of the role of Local Government within the community, and its functions as they relate to land use planning and development matters.
- Ability to interpret and implement legislation related documents, and policies and procedures within a professional environment.
Experience in the assessment of development applications or working within a local government environment would be well regarded, however, a positive mindset and a can‑do attitude are more important, and we are willing to offer training on the technical elements to the right person.
