Are you a skilled Estimator with a robust construction background and a passion for delivering accurate, practical solutions?
This is more than a desk-based estimating role. You’ll play a key part in bringing projects to life by preparing estimates, assessing site conditions, identifying risks, and working closely with our Operations Team, Site Managers and Subcontractors to support successful project delivery.
If you enjoy problem-solving, variety and being involved from planning through to construction, we’d love to hear from you!
About Us:
WABi Systems Australia aims to disrupt the traditional building industry by offering innovative and patented modular housing solutions that embody the company’s philosophy of “simpler, smarter and stronger.” WABi’s core belief is that everyone deserves a home – “a home for all.” This mission drives the company’s efforts to make housing more accessible, sustainable, and appealing to modern consumers. With roots in Fremantle, WABi Systems Australia is uniquely positioned to attract talent and push boundaries of what is possible in the construction sector.
About You:
You know that the best estimates don't come from drawings alone. You're just as happy pulling on your boots for a site visit as you are putting together a detailed estimate back in the office. By asking the right questions and understanding the real-world challenges of each site, you produce practical, accurate estimates that set projects up for success.
You’ll have:
- Proven experience in estimating within the residential, commercial or modular construction industry
- A strong understanding of construction methodologies, site works and project delivery
- The ability to assess site conditions and identify factors that may impact project costs, timelines and constructability
- Experience interpreting building plans, engineering drawings, specifications, Australian Standards and relevant building codes
- Knowledge of site access, logistics, excavation requirements, utilities, environmental constraints and other factors affecting construction projects
- Experience preparing detailed estimates, tender submissions and project costings, including labour, materials, subcontractors, freight and plant
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to monitor budgets, analyse cost variances and identify opportunities for cost efficiencies
- Experience working with estimating software (such as Buildxact or similar) and confidence using CRM and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent organisational,
time management and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers, Subcontractors, Site Managers, Project Managers and internal stakeholders
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement, quality assurance and process optimisation
- A current Australian Driver's Licence
- The ability and willingness to undertake travel to project locations for site inspections
