Are you an Environmental Advisor with a passion for operational excellence and innovative solutions? Thiess is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Advisor to join our dynamic team at the Eva Copper Mine Project in the Cloncurry region of Queensland, Australia.
In this role, you will play a key part in delivering safe, effective, and sustainable mining operations, driving technical excellence and supporting project success.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and project approvals
- Management of top‑soiling, site water, and rehabilitation works including quality assurance
- Ensuring successful implementation of the Environmental Management System and development of project Environmental Management Plans
- Delivering environmental training and awareness programs
- Communicating and promoting environmental initiatives and innovations within the business
- Collating reports to meet legislative and client requirements
- Liaising with the client and regulator
- Co‑ordinating environmental monitoring, inspection and auditing programs and maintaining associated documentation and records
- Providing interpretation of environmental data and regular progress reports against environmental performance targets
- Strategically influencing the design, construction and consultant teams in areas of environmental management and sustainability to deliver outstanding outcomes
Candidate Requirements
- Proven site‑based environmental experience in mining or heavy industry
- Strong environmental compliance and approvals knowledge (incl. EMS and legislation)
- Hands‑on experience with monitoring, reporting and audits
- Confident stakeholder engagement with regulators, clients and operations teams
