Hello, We’re The Y WA (formerly YMCA WA)

We’re that local (Not-For-Profit) Child & Parent Centre (CPC) located on Weaver Place in South Hedland (WA) who’s all about connecting with community and ‘learning’ for children and parents. And guess what? You’re a BIG part of how we make this happen.

We’re looking for a Child Parent Centre Manager to work their magic and head up our centre. We need you (and your inspirational leadership) to work alongside families in the Port Hedland community to improve child development outcomes, school readiness and lift collaboration between early years services and programs and help reduce early years system barriers. It’s a big role, but let’s just think about your awesome perks to start.

Your awesome perks

- $115,000 to $125,000 + 12% super per annum
- Plus, Salary Packaging-Remote Area Benefits (Incl claiming your rent / mortgage / utility bills & more)
- Subsidised housing on offer! (if eligible)
- Interested in relocating to Port Hedland? Relocation financial assistance offered! (if eligible)
- Generous corporate healthcare discounts (up to 8%)
- Ongoing professional development, training, and professional support
- Free employee assistance program
- Buy a NEW CAR & save on tax (Novated Leasing on offer)
- Work for a WA based NFP making a real difference in our local community with unwavering focus and commitment to safeguarding children.
- Refer a friend incentive! ($500)

What you’ll be doing

Walking into your centre you’ll smile, as the early morning sun shines across South Hedland Primary School. As you collaborate with your staff, families,

the region and local communities you’ll work with your GM to formulate your business plan. But ultimately, you’re a family connector. You’ll engage with vulnerable families with young children and connect them with early years services & programs that meet their needs. No doubt, this will fuel you quest to form solid early years partnerships with key stakeholders to make that difference to improve child health, wellbeing and development outcomes. Sounds interesting? Check out the PD link below!

You’ll be great in this role if you…

- Have a diploma or degree in Children Services/Early Learning/Health/Community Services or equivalent with relevant experience
- Are experienced in positively engaging with indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) communities
- Are a creative out of the box thinker who inspires and mobilises people into action, builds partnerships and is solutions focussed.
- Are known for your ability to lead and motivate staff in a challenging and growing work setting
- Have managed budgets and written insightful reports for multiple stakeholders
- Are known for your excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
- Have the ability to coordinate valuable learning activities to families with young children
- Enjoy identifying, forming and maintaining genuine partnerships with key stakeholders
- Can obtain a National Police Certificate and Working with Children card
- Hold a current Western Australian ‘C’ class Drivers Licence

If you’ve worked with & enjoy engaging with culturally diverse young people including Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders, we would welcome your application.
