The Role

This role plays a pivotal frontline carer role with a particular focus on nutrition and dining, supporting residents to live a life of fulfilment through the delivery of person-centred care and support according to the needs and preferences of each resident in everyday practice.

Assisting in the preparation, delivery, presentation and serving of resident meals.

- Meal choices and individual nutrition
- Consideration of allergies and food intolerances
- Enhancing the overall dining experience
- Assist residents with meal selection and meal timing preferences
- Prepare and set up dining areas to meet individual needs and preferences
- Actively engage with residents to provide social and emotional support during mealtimes
- Use empathy and kindness to foster a positive dining experience
- Promote resident choice and control to uphold dignity and respect
- Prepare and maintain dining experience areas and provide meal service to meet individual resident choices
- Maintain accurate nutrition and diet information as required
- Assist with quality food preparation in accordance with the Food Safety Plan, Bolton Clarke Food Standards and Dining Framework




- Assist with maintaining kitchen stock supplies as required

Qualifications

- Demonstrated customer service skills
- A compassionate and caring attitude
- Previous restaurant and/or commercial kitchen experience (highly regarded)
- Willingness to take direction from others
- Reliability and shift flexibility
- Good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure
- Valid working rights in Australia (passport, birth certificate, etc.)
- Complete a police check and/or an NDIS Workers Check (or willingness to obtain) prior to commencement
