Short Description

The Cooinda Mental Health inpatient unit is a state-of-the-art 33-bed acute unit for adults aged 18 and over. The unit offers private rooms, dining, laundry, lounge, visitors lounge, outdoor areas, music, art and craft rooms, therapy rooms, gym and more. Our service provides assessment and evidence-based treatment for patients with mood, anxiety, trauma, eating, psychotic, addiction and complex mental health needs.

Responsibilities

- Accountable for the provision of safe and holistic care to individuals and their families, applying best clinical practice and ensuring a safe environment for optimal patient outcomes.
- Deliver exceptional person-centred care by working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, applying excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Lead evidence-based group therapy for day and inpatient patients as part of the Program team.
- Provide supervision, guidance and mentorship to the multidisciplinary team through effective decision making and support.
- Advocate for patients and champion their needs within the team and the broader organization.

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 5 years relevant clinical experience in acute mental health.
- Bachelor of Nursing degree (or equivalent)



with AHPRA registration.
- Post-registration qualification in evidence-based therapies (e.g., CBT, DBT).
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, support and mentorship.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Experience delivering inpatient and day program groups.
- Flexibility to work full 24/7 rotating roster.
- Willingness to obtain required vaccinations and undergo national criminal history check and functional assessment.
