Job Description – School Psychologist (0.6 FTE) – Jerrys Plains Public School (Requisition ID 0000BC7A)

Remuneration

Package valued up to $182,461 + incentives where applicable. Base salary range $101,122 – $160,983 plus leave loading and employer superannuation contribution. Salary available above minimum based on experience.

About the Role

Part-time, 0.6 FTE. School psychologists work in primary and high schools to provide counselling and psychological assessment, enhancing student learning and wellbeing. The role involves individual and group counselling, therapeutic interventions, and collaboration with teachers, families and external agencies.

Key Accountabilities

- Provide counselling and psychological services to students individually and in groups, including short-term therapeutic interventions within training and supervision limits.
- Engage with and implement the Professional Practice Framework for the NSW School Counselling Service.
- Consult with the principal, school executive, staff and student support services to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes and implement departmental priorities.
- Contribute to the social, emotional and academic development of students, supporting complex behavioural needs.
- Administer cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural assessments, report on results and collaborate to improve outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with learning and support teams,



parents, carers and agencies to develop school-based support.
- Respond as part of a team to assist schools experiencing responsible incidents.
- Refer students and families to other agencies to support health and wellbeing outcomes.

Essential Requirements

- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy, Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG Inc. and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy.
- General or Provisional Psychology Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Valid and current Working with Children Check clearance – WWCC must be NSW.
- Current and valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel between work sites.
- Austawalian citizenship or permanent residency.
