As an Assistant Store Manager at Petstock you support the Store Manager in leading a passionate team to deliver world‑class customer service, playing a key role in the success of the Petstock Group.
Responsibilities
- Coach and mentor the team to achieve and develop their knowledge and skills.
- Lead from the front by consistently providing an exceptional customer experience.
- Create a strong safety mindset and foster a culture of safety within the team.
- Manage stock effectively, ensuring accuracy and adherence to stock integrity processes.
- Assist in managing visual merchandising (VM) of stock displays, maintaining VM standards.
- Stay up to date on pet care, products, and services, demonstrating initiative in product knowledge.
- Recruit, onboard, and induct high‑calibre new team members.
- Support local marketing opportunities and sponsorships.
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar store leadership role or strong desire to step into retail management.
- Demonstrated drive to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Strong leadership ability to motivate and build a high‑performing team while fostering a positive culture.
- Ability to prioritise and manage conflicting priorities, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Knowledge of safe work, health & safety practices.
- Established business acumen.
- Flexibility and adaptability to a changing work setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and rapport with customers and the wider team.
