About the Hospital
Since opening in 1999 as New South Wales' first multi-specialist and 24‑hour emergency veterinary hospital, ARH Homebush has been at the forefront of specialist patient care. Over the past 25 years, ARH Homebush has introduced some of the most significant advancements in veterinary medicine in Australia, including pioneering specialist oncology services, introducing Australia's first kyphosis cementless hip replacement procedures, installing the first CT scanner in NSW private veterinary practice, and operating the first high-field MRI in private veterinary practice in the Southern Hemisphere.
Today, our multidisciplinary team continues to provide advanced specialist and emergency care for thousands of patients every year, supported by a team of dedicated veterinary professionals committed to clinical excellence.
About the Role
This position is dedicated to the management and coordination of inpatient care across our hospital. Working closely with our Specialists, Emergency & Critical Care clinicians, and nursing teams, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional patient care throughout every stage of hospitalization.
In This Role You Will:
- Coordinate daily inpatient care and patient flow across the hospital
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and monitoring
- Administer medications, fluid therapy, blood products, and prescribed treatments
- Manage feeding tubes and nutritional support plans
- Facilitate treatments, diagnostics, procedures, and discharges
- Support Specialists and ECC teams by ensuring continuity of patient care
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Communicate effectively with clinicians, nurses, and support teams
- Advocate for patient welfare and exceptional nursing standards
- Contribute to a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and clinical excellence
About You
You are an experienced Veterinary Nurse who thrives in a hospital workplace and enjoys being at the centre of patient care coordination. You take pride in delivering exceptional nursing care, have strong clinical judgement, and enjoy working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best outcomes for patients.
To Be Successful, You Will Have:
- Previous experience in referral, emergency, specialty, or hospital-based nursing
- Strong patient assessment and monitoring skills
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation abilities
- Confidence managing multiple patients and competing priorities
- Outstanding communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive, positive, and patient-focused approach
- A commitment to maintaining high clinical standards and continuous learning
