About the Opportunity
Our apprenticeships offer a excellent mix of practical work experience and technical learning, giving you a head start in your career. You'll get guidance from experienced trades and engineering professionals, tap into your team's knowledge, and tackle challenges that help you grow from day one.
On-site experience
Outside of Trade School Training, our apprentices gain hands-on experience on-site with tools, equipment, and machinery relevant to their trade. As part of your placement, you will be based at either our Whyalla Steelworks or Mining sites.
Both the Whyalla Steelworks and the Mining sites arebased in Whyalla, SA !
The Whyalla Steelworks boasts integrated steelworks with everything from steelmaking to rolling mill facilities, crafting essential products for local and global markets. Meanwhile, our Mining sites oversees iron ore operations in the picturesque Middleback Ranges.
It’s your chance to dive into the heart of Australia’s industrial and mining sectors, immersing yourself into your pathway from day one.
About You
Applicant must have either:
- Completed Year 11 at high school and had a minimum of 12 months work experience; OR
- Have completed Year 11 in 2026 and are on the pathway to gaining your high school certificate.*
- Be safety-focused, team-orientated and have good interpersonal skills
- Full working right in Australia and currently resides in Australia
- Has, at minimum, P1 driver’s licence by January 2027.
Those on the pathway to gaining their high school certificate will be signed up to a school-based apprenticeship.
