Our College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) Teacher to join our vibrant learning community. We are looking for an educator who demonstrates knowledge of, and the ability to implement, effective teaching and learning strategies that enable EALD students to achieve their highest potential, with a commitment to excellence in learning, and a genuine passion for fostering student wellbeing. About the Role

We are seeking a EALD Teacher (Secondary) who can deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate learning programs for our EALD students. The ideal candidate will bring strong pedagogical knowledge within the English as an Additional Language space, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine desire to inspire curiosity while contributing to the academic, spiritual, and personal development of our students.

Full‑time, ongoing position starting in Term 1, 2027.

Key Responsibilities

- Teach students with identified EALD needs, aligned to the school improvement plan.
- Promote awareness of cultural backgrounds, diverse ways of knowing and the potential impact of trauma on learning.
- Collaborate with specialist staff to coordinate support for EALD learners.
- Contribute to a workplace culture that values inclusion, diversity and equitable access for all students.
- Assess student learning accurately and provide timely, constructive feedback in line with SCSA Achievement Standards.
- Model and promote the Catholic ethos, values, and pastoral care principles of the school.




- Engage in ongoing professional learning and contribute to cocurricular and whole‑school activities.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with students, families and staff.
- Uphold Child‑Safe School guidelines and prioritise the safety and wellbeing of all students.

About You

You will be a passionate teacher who:

- Has strong communication skills, to effectively communicate with students, parents and colleagues, adapting your language to meet the needs of EALD learners.
- Understands the cultural contexts and complexities of students, to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge and contemporary teaching practice.
- Engages students and is flexible in teaching approach, to accommodate diverse needs.
- Values relationships and fosters a supportive, respectful learning environment.
- Is committed to continuous improvement and reflective practice.
- Embraces the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Works collaboratively and contributes positively to school culture.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Current TRBWA registration.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education (Secondary) with specialisation in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
- Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Commitment to CEWA Child‑Safe Framework.
