Job Summary
Own the day-to-day flow of goods across a busy, highly regulated Richlands site and take the pressure off laboratory and operational teams. This is a hands-on logistics and workplace support role that also gives you a clear runway to expand into inventory management and procurement process improvement. If you love coordinating deliveries, cutting out inefficiencies, and building a system people actually use, you’ll thrive here.
Benefits
- Get real exposure to fast-moving, regulated logistics including domestic and international shipping, courier coordination, and accurate documentation (including potential radioactive materials handling in their packaging)
- Own the receiving and internal distribution process for laboratory and workplace supplies, reducing admin load across reception and multiple research teams
- Create efficiencies across procurement and purchasing, including opportunities to help standardise ordering, centralise inventory, and set up an online request process
- Work closely with engineering and multiple R&D; teams where a large portion of the outgoing freight originates, so your coordination directly affects turnaround times
- Flexible coverage across the day – start time between 7am – 9am
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate incoming deliveries, couriers, and freight into the Richlands site, including getting goods to the right teams across the lab and workplace areas
- Manage outgoing shipments and courier activities, including domestic and international logistics, ensuring timely dispatch and correct shipping documentation
- Coordinate international freight requirements, including working with freight forwarders, couriers and suppliers to ensure shipments meet relevant documentation and transport requirements
- Support procurement administration by assisting with purchase orders, supplier coordination, invoice processing and order tracking, with a view to reducing reliance on ad hoc purchasing
- Help set up and maintain a central inventory approach for consumables used by multiple research teams, including monitoring stock and organising storage locations
- Liaise with scientists, lab ops, engineering, facilities and other stakeholders to streamline ordering, clarify needs, and improve lead times
- Assist with workplace operations as required, including contractor and visitor coordination and maintaining organised site readiness during refurbishments
Requirements
- Previous experience working within healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, life sciences, or another healthcare-related/regulated industry is essential
- Demonstrated experience coordinating international logistics and freight, including international shipments, freight forwarders, couriers and associated documentation
- Hands-on experience in logistics, operations coordination, inventory, warehouse or workplace support, ideally within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, manufacturing, or a similarly regulated environment
- Strong attention to detail and a track record of keeping accurate records for deliveries, shipments and documentation
- Confident communication skills and the ability to coordinate with technical and operational teams without losing momentum
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and comfortable learning procurement or inventory systems quickly
- Ability to prioritise in a fast-paced setting and manage multiple requests across different teams
- Willingness to be trained for hazardous materials and dangerous goods processes as relevant on site (you may need to support receiving and handling of hazardous goods)
