We are looking for an experienced Quarry Manager to lead the team at our Axedale Sand & Gravel Quarry in Country Victoria, 25 minutes East of Bendigo. Reporting to the Area Manager, this role is a multi‑faceted position overseeing daily operations, including production, continuous improvement, health & safety, logistics and full P&L; responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team, driving performance and achievement of goals.
- Make strategic business decisions that impact performance: set KPIs, financial planning, budgeting, and cost management.
- Oversee day‑to‑day quarry operations, including development, storm water and environmental management, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Champion rehabilitation and sustainability initiatives to maintain industry reputation.
- Manage high‑risk activities, implementing a solid safety mindset and reducing risk exposure.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to influence decisions and negotiate outcomes.
- Maintain a zero‑harm culture, ensuring compliance with risk management protocols.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience as a quarry manager or supervisor with relevant industry qualifications.
- Strong leadership experience and a track record of transformational change in complex environments.
- Capability to support continuous improvement across the supply chain.
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven safety mindset with total commitment to risk management and Zero Harm .
- Team player with ability to multi‑task and make timely decisions under pressure.
- Positive communicator, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- High resilience and adaptability to changing situations.
