About the business

NIXON is a local, market‑leading electrical contractor operating across the South West. We are looking for an experienced Leading Hand Electrician to join our dedicated Electrical department. This role is strictly focused on commercial projects and maintenance with some overflow residential work—completely separate from our air conditioning and solar divisions. Based out of our Bunbury office, we invest heavily in our people, providing the stability and tools you need to build a long‑term local career.

What the role looks like

Team leadership : Lead and coordinate a small, capable crew on‑site.

Diverse workflow : Handle a wide range of breakdowns, maintenance, installations, and project work.

Technical scope : Diagnose and resolve semi‑complex control system faults, motor faults, and light power issues.

Client liaison : Manage relationships directly with clients and site contacts.

Mentorship : Guide, develop, and mentor apprentices on‑site.

Compliance : Maintain strict adherence to compliance, safety, and quality standards.

Communication : Keep the operations team updated on job progress and material requirements.

What we are looking for

Licensing : Current, valid WA A‑Grade Electrical Licence.

Experience :



Strong background in commercial electrical work (residential experience is highly valued).

Technical skill : Proven confidence in fault‑finding and diagnosing control systems and motors.

Leadership : Formal leading hand experience or informal supervisory skills with a natural ability to run a job.

Testing : Solid experience in installation testing and compliance.

Communication : Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable dealing directly with clients.

Reliability : A safety‑conscious professional who takes genuine pride in a high‑quality finished job.
