Job Description

Location: Port Augusta
Base hourly rate: From $36.22 per hour plus superannuation
Employment status: Multiple part-time positions, 0.60 FTE

Join our Supported Residential Care team and help create a safe, stable and supportive home for children and young people who cannot live with their families.

Through consistent, trauma‑informed care, you will build trusted relationships, support daily routines and help young people develop confidence, independence and life skills.

The service operates 24 hours a day. You must be available across a rotating roster that includes overnight shifts, weekends and public holidays. Penalty rates are paid in addition to the base hourly rate.

Applicants progressing beyond interview will complete a Psychological Suitability Assessment. We will explain the process and provide explicit instructions beforehand.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You:

- Be compassionate, reliable and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Be able to support children and young people with high and complex needs.
- Hold a current Australian driver’s licence.
- Hold or be actively working towards, within six months of commencement,



a recognised relevant qualification approved under the Department for Child Protection Personnel Requirements Matrix.
- If you do not yet hold the qualification, UCSA will fund a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention as part of your approved pathway.
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, the required employment screenings and complete mandatory training.
