STILKRAM Professional Resources is seeking a Reliability & Project Engineer (Mechanical) to join our growing team. This position is a FIFO role (from Perth), offering an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on equipment reliability and project delivery on a mine site within the Goldfields.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving mechanical engineering excellence across both reliability improvement initiatives and capital projects. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams implementing reliability-centred maintenance strategies that enhance operational performance whilst also managing the tailings and de-watering projects around the site's TSF. This position offers the chance to develop your expertise in both mechanical reliability and project management, contributing directly to the strategic objectives of the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) strategies to optimise equipment performance and reduce unplanned downtime
- Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigation of mechanical equipment failures, documenting findings and recommending preventative actions
- Collaborate with operations teams to identify reliability improvement opportunities and prioritise initiatives based on business impact
- Lead the planning, execution and delivery of tailings dam lifts and de-watering projects from concept through to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets and quality standards
- Manage project budgets,
resource allocation and stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical reliability engineering, with demonstrated expertise in project management.
- Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles, predictive maintenance techniques and failure analysis methodologies
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, and structural analysis
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex technical challenges and develop practical solutions
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools, including scheduling and budget control
- Tailing dam lift and water management experience is desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholder groups
- Demonstrated commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance in engineering practice
