Our Family Violence Program works alongside individuals and families affected by family violence, with a strong focus on increasing the safety and wellbeing of women and children.
We’re seeking an experienced and passionate Men's Behaviour Change Program (MBCP) Facilitator to join our Family Violence team on a casual basis. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by working directly with men who use violence, challenging harmful behaviours, promoting accountability, and supporting positive change.
About The Role
- Co‑facilitating evening Men's Behaviour Change Program groups
- Providing individual counselling and case management support
- Conducting risk assessments, safety planning and risk management
- Collaborating with women's services and other specialist agencies
- Making referrals to legal, mental health, alcohol and drug, and other support services
- Building strong relationships with community and justice‑sector stakeholders
- Contributing to reporting, compliance and continuous improvement activities.
About You
You are a skilled facilitator with a strong understanding of family violence and a commitment to working within a gendered violence framework.
You’ll Bring
- A Degree or Diploma in Social Work or a related discipline
- Eligibility for membership with AASW or a relevant professional association
- Experience facilitating groups,
ideally Men's Behaviour Change Programs
- Knowledge of the social and gendered drivers of family violence
- Understanding of the impacts of family violence on women and children
- Experience in counselling, case management and collaborative practice
- Robust organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
A Graduate Certificate in Social Science (Male Family Violence) is highly regarded.

Location
Based primarily at our South Melbourne site, with occasional travel to other BHN locations as required.
