An exciting prospect has become available for a Financial Accountant to join a well established and highly regarded property developer based in Newcastle.

Working as part of a collaborative finance team, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, tax, audit, business services, statutory compliance and continuous process improvement across a diverse property portfolio.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mid level accountant looking to broaden their experience within a dynamic, fast-paced commercial environment.

The Opportunity

- Preparing month-end and year-end financial reporting, including journals, accruals and adjustments
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger
- Managing fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules
- Ensuring accurate recognition of revenue and expenses in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards
- Preparing BAS, FBT and other statutory returns
- Assisting with cash flow forecasting and financial analysis
- Preparing General Purpose Financial Statements and supporting year-end audit requirements
- Completing external compliance reporting, including ATO, ABS, NSW Revenue and Workers Compensation declarations
- Assisting with group consolidation reporting
- Supporting accounts payable and receivable functions when required




- Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency
- Acting as a key liaison with external accountants and tax advisers

About You

- The role would ideally suit a candidate with a Public Practice background as you will be heavily involved in Tax, Data, Auditing
- CA or CPA qualification (or currently working towards)
- 3 - 4+ years’ Financial accounting experience within commercial, property or public practice environments
- Strong financial accounting and statutory reporting experience
- Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and tax compliance
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines
- A proactive approach with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
