Personal Care Assistant – Mercy Health

Location: Mercy Place Mount, 61 Campbell St, Young, New South Wales 2594

Mercy Health seeks a compassionate Personal Care Assistant to support residents in a protected and respectful environment. You will work alongside nursing staff to deliver high‑quality personal care and ensure residents’ dignity and comfort.

Responsibilities

- Assist residents with daily personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Help with mobility, including transferring residents from bed to chair, assisting with walking, and using mobility aids safely.
- Support residents with feeding, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration, and assist with special dietary needs.
- Assist with medication reminders and support residents in taking prescribed medications under the guidance of a nurse.
- Help maintain a clean and safe living environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks, including making beds and cleaning rooms.
- Assist with organizing and engaging in activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive well‑being.




- Respond to residents’ requests for assistance in a timely and professional manner.
- Follow care plans as outlined by registered nurses and healthcare professionals, ensuring the highest standards of care are met.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect for residents’ privacy, dignity, and personal preferences.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including infection control procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

- Minimum Certificate III / Certificate IV in Aged Care or Individual Support.
- Evidence of, or in the process of obtaining, a Police Check and NDIS clearance.
- Committed to delivering exceptional person‑centred care.
