Human Resources Advisor – MIM HR Operations, Mount Isa, Queensland, Australia
An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, proactive, outcomes‑focused Human Resources Advisor to join the HR Operations team at Queensland Metals. Reporting to the HR Superintendent, the role works closely with operational leaders and employees, delivering high‑quality HR support and contributing to broader organisational objectives in a complex operational environment. The position is residentially based in Mount Isa and operates a 5/2 4/3 roster. Local candidates are encouraged to apply; relocation support is available for those located outside Mount Isa.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide HR advice and support across employee relations, performance management, and legislative compliance.
- Assist with performance improvement plans and attendance management processes.
- Support workforce planning, roster planning, and establishment management activities.
- Contribute to recruitment support and organisational capability initiatives.
- Support remuneration, benefits, payroll processing, and injury management activities.
- Assist with the delivery and implementation of HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support operational teams to deliver key business objectives through effective people practices.
- Partner with leaders to make data‑driven decisions.

Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years’ HR experience, ideally within the resources or heavy industry sector.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to influence, negotiate, and build effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Confidence acting as a trusted HR resource at all levels of the organisation.

You are a capable HR generalist with strong interpersonal skills and a practical approach to supporting operational teams. You are comfortable working in a quick‑paced environment, applying sound judgement, and delivering consistent, professional advice.
