As a Central Information Point (CIP) Data Custodian, you will work within a close-knit cross‑agency team collocated at Family Safety Victoria (FSV). The role is a key recommendation from the Royal Commission into Family Violence, aimed at promoting the safety of families in Victoria.
You will respond to family violence requests for information, consolidating data from Victoria Police, Court Services Victoria, Corrections Victoria and the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing into detailed reports used by frontline workers to assess and manage risk to vulnerable children and families.
Responsibilities
- Assess and provide advice on data held within Victoria Police systems, summarizing information to support risk assessment and management of family violence conducted by The Orange Door and other stakeholders
- Interpret and apply legislation relevant to the Information Sharing Schemes
- Provide advice on the quality, accuracy and relevance of data, including identifying perpetrators held within Victoria Police databases and escalating complex data quality issues
- Write professional and articulate information reports on behalf of Victoria Police
Qualifications
- Commitment and interest in preventing family violence and contributing to a safer Victorian community
- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and applying legislation to support operations
- Strong problem‑solving, conceptual and analytical skills, including identifying and reporting on risk in the context of family violence
- Critical thinking, strong written and verbal communication skills
- Capacity to work independently and autonomously
- Experience with LEAP or demonstrable knowledge of Victoria Police databases and related information systems
- Compassion and empathy in a diverse, inclusive workplace
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency or valid work permit/visa, and willingness to undergo National Security Vetting and pre‑employment checks (including fingerprint and misconduct screening)
