Clinical Risk and Compliance Lead | Community Services Worker Level 7
Help shape Waratah’s next chapter of clinical quality, safer decisions and stronger practice.
About Us
Waratah is a well-established organisation in the South West Region of Western Australia, providing responsive and innovative support for family and domestic violence and sexual assault. Our services include counselling, assessment, safety planning and advocacy for children, young people, adults and their families. Waratah acknowledges, honours and welcomes the diverse communities we share. We celebrate the extraordinary diversity of people’s bodies, genders, cultures, sexualities and relationships.
We encourage people from different backgrounds to apply, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and people with disability.
The Role
Waratah is entering an exciting new chapter, building on established services and systems as we strengthen clinical leadership, connect practice across programs and invest in consistent quality and safety. As Clinical Risk and Compliance Lead, you will be part of this transition from the outset, with genuine scope to shape how Waratah’s next stage is embedded across every service.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will bring specialist oversight to our existing clinical, intake, risk and compliance systems and help staff use them confidently when decisions are complex or the stakes are high. You will lead clinical governance, clinical risk, intake and triage, safeguarding, compliance, service quality and continuous improvement.
You will provide senior clinical guidance across all programs, review critical incidents and complex complaints, support accreditation, and use data and service insights to strengthen practice. You will also monitor, manage and continually improve Waratah’s client record system, Taklit,
ensuring it supports accurate records, reliable reporting and secure, accountable practice. How you work with people will be as important as your technical expertise: you will build trust, explain complex requirements clearly, challenge practice respectfully, lead the Intake Officer and Business Systems and Reporting Coordinator, advise the Chief Executive Officer and Board, and participate in rostered after-hours clinical advice or call-out arrangements.
About you
You are a thoughtful and credible senior clinician who is comfortable with complexity and understands that lasting improvement depends on bringing people with you. You will bring:
- A relevant tertiary qualification (allied health or clinical services) and substantial senior clinical leadership experience in a relevant service setting.
- Strong capability in clinical governance, risk, safeguarding, intake or triage, including experience with complex decisions, incidents, complaints, audits, accreditation or quality improvement.
- Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills: able to influence, coach, have difficult conversations, build confidence and work credibly with staff, executives, Boards and external partners.
- Experience developing and monitoring meaningful KPIs that support staff performance, service quality and accountability.
- Advanced training in clinical supervision, governance, risk, quality or safeguarding, and experience with accreditation or funding compliance.
- A current unrestricted driver’s licence, required screening checks, travel to Waratah locations and capacity to participate in rostered after-hours arrangements are required.
What we offer
Five weeks annual leave.
Access to not-for-profit salary packaging benefits of up to $15,900 per annum.
Professional supervision.
A senior specialist role with genuine organisation-wide influence, building on established systems and helping shape Waratah’s next stage of clinical quality and safety.
