About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager - Finance, this role is responsible for managing the day‑to‑day resident finance cycle and ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial processing across our residential aged care operations. This position is offered on a part‑time basis, working four days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Process fortnightly resident billing, plus ad hoc billing and account adjustments as required
- Following up outstanding debts and payment arrangements
- Process refunds of refundable accommodation deposits (RADs) accurately and within legislated timeframes under the Aged Care Act 2024 and Aged Care Rules 2025
- Perform the banking function, including receipting and allocation of payments
- Reconcile the monthly Services Australia (Medicare) payment statement to billed subsidies and supplements
- Reconciling resident accounts including Means Tested Care Fee and Non-Clinical Care Contribution
- Complete bank, balance sheet and credit card reconciliations within month‑end timeframes
- Maintain accurate, audit‑ready resident finance records and respond professionally to resident,
family and internal enquiries
About You
- Experience in accounts receivable, billing, bookkeeping or a similar finance processing role in aged care, health or another regulated environment highly regarded
- Strong reconciliation skills with proven attention to detail and the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Confident using finance systems and Excel to maintain records and support reporting
- Clear, warm communication style where you can discuss accounts sensitively with residents and families
- Sound judgement on confidentiality, procedures and when to escape
- Certificate IV, Diploma or equivalent qualification in accounting, bookkeeping or finance administration, or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Ability to interpret financial information and follow legislative requirements
- Proficiency using finance systems and spreadsheets to maintain records, complete reconciliations and support reporting.
- Experience in aged care, health or not‑for‑profit finance
- Knowledge of RADs, Means Tested Care Fees and Medicare subsidies
- Experience with finance or resident management systems
Mandatory Requirements
- National Police Clearance issued within the last 6 months (or willingness to obtain)
