About NAPCo

The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) was founded in 1877 and is one of Australia's leading beef cattle companies, managing over 6.1 million hectares, largest single herd in the world and home to Five Founders Beef. NAPCo employs approximately 220 staff operating across Queensland and the Northern Territory, with 15 cattle stations, a depot in Mount Isa, a feedlot and farm in the Darling Downs and an office in Brisbane's CBD.

Wainui Feedlot & Farm, QLD

The Wainui Feedlot has an 18,000‑head capacity with feed rations mixed on‑site using grain processed through a state‑of‑the‑art feed mill. A 4,600‑hectare dry‑land and irrigated farming enterprise also operates on the property. Located between Dalby and Toowoomba, Wainui Feedlot is known for its staff retention, tidiness and operational excellence. At the Wainui Feedlot & Farm, our in‑house maintenance team looks after the vehicles, machinery and equipment that keep daily operations running safely and smoothly.

The role

This role is a great entry point for someone who enjoys practical work, likes solving problems, and wants to build a trade career but also has a love for the agriculture industry. You'll work alongside experienced mechanics while completing apprenticeship training, learning how to service, repair and maintain farm and feedlot vehicles, machinery and equipment.

School‑based applicants and recent school leavers are encouraged to apply.

Day to day duties include

- Assist with servicing,



inspections and basic repairs on vehicles, machinery and equipment.
- Learn to safely use hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
- Help keep the workshop clean, safe and organised.
- Complete training and workplace tasks as part of your apprenticeship.
- Work with farm, feedlot and operations teams to support day‑to‑day maintenance needs.

Ideally the successful candidate will have/be

- Be a school leaver or current 11 or 12 student seeking a school‑based apprenticeship.
- Have an interest in mechanics, machinery, vehicles or hands‑on trade work.
- Be reliable, safety‑focused and willing to learn.
- Have good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Be able to work well in a team and follow instructions.
