Role Highlights
Working within the Operations Division, the Bulk Services Officer is a diverse role that plays a critical part in contributing to the growth and prosperity of Fremantle Ports and Western Australia, including mooring, bulk handling, security, safety and shipping services.
- Operate mobile equipment, including front end loaders, excavators, skid steers, conveyors, water truck and control room operations
Assist the stevedoring operations including trimming of vessels, unloader operations and jetty cleanup.
Provide first aid response and primary care service.
Provide Safety Monitoring and Initial Response service primarily related to the handling of hazardous cargoes, chemical spills, accident fires, pollution and oil spills, etc.
Assist International, Federal and State authorities in emergency situations and in training arrangements when required.
Provide services to vessels including mooring, unmooring and water services, repositioning of vessels, gangways, and completion of relevant documentation for services provided.
Undertake wash wash downs; bollard, gravel beam,
barricade and fender placement, where specialised equipment is not required.
What Makes You a Great Fit
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in a heavy industry or mining environment
- Knowledge of Safety, Environment & Quality principles
- HR Driver’s licence
Technical, Skilled and Specialist Skills
- Ability to work shiftwork & preparedness to work reasonable overtime hours
- Good interpersonal, team and customer focus and liaison skills
- Good oral & written communication skills
- Excavator ticket
- EWP ticket
- Crane tickets (CB, CP, CD, CN)
- Understanding & experience in a Port environment
- Progress towards or possession of relevant qualification (Certificate, Diploma, etc)
