Salary: $80,000 to $85,000 + 12% Superannuation

Blu Ginger is an iconic fine dining restaurant located in Canberra serving Indian cuisine and are looking for 2 Full-time Cooks to work 38 hours per week.

To be considered for the role the candidate will need to have a minimum of 2 years' full-time work experience preferably in Indian cuisine.

The ideal candidate must think innovatively and can work in a team.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Preparing, seasoning, and cooking food according to the menu and recipes provided.
• Checking the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
• Season food, sauces and gravies during cooking.
• Following recipes, portion control, and presentation requirements.
• Assisting with daily food preparation tasks.
• Ensuring meals are prepared in a timely manner during busy service periods.
• Monitoring food stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies when required.
• Storing food correctly in line with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Cleaning kitchen equipment, work areas, and cooking utensils.




• Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
• Working cooperatively with chefs, kitchen staff, and front-of-house staff.
• Minimising food wastage and maintaining cost-effective kitchen practices.
• Ensuring all food is prepared safely and complies with relevant hygiene regulations.

Qualifications required for the role:
• Minimum of Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or relevant qualification.

Skills and other requirements for the position:
• Have a minimum of 2 years' full time work experience as a cook.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Have knowledge of Food Handling and Food Safety procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Awareness of food safety and hygiene standards.
