Your new role
Due to ongoing growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cost Accountant to join the finance team in a permanent position. Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations through accurate inventory management, product costing and financial analysis. Working closely with both the wider finance team and operational stakeholders, you will provide meaningful insights that support commercial decision‑making and drive continuous improvement across the business. This role offers a blend of traditional cost accounting responsibilities alongside broader management accounting exposure, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to expand their skill set within a collaborative FMCG environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and analysing product costing models
- Inventory accounting, stock reconciliations and valuation processes
- Supporting month-end reporting and management accounts
- Variance analysis across manufacturing, labour and overheads
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Business partnering with operations, supply chain and inventory teams
- Supporting ERP system processes and reporting
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and enhanced reporting
- Assisting with audit requirements and financial controls
What you'll need to succeed
- CA, CPA or equivalent qualification (or be working towards completion)
- Previous experience in a Cost Accountant or Manufacturing Accountant position
- Strong inventory and stock accounting experience
- Exposure to FMCG, manufacturing, food production or similar operational environments
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with both finance and operational stakeholders
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
